Founder and President of The Museum of Broadcast Communications, former Chairman of the George Foster Peabody Awards and talk show host for nearly 20 years in Chicago and nationally, Bruce is armed with a biting wit and a sharp eye for the nation's political scene.
The nephew of the late Allen B. DuMont; the founder of the DuMont Television Network, prevalent in the 40's and 50's, Bruce has been covering the national political scene for over 30 years. He has produced for both radio and television, and even garnered two Chicago Emmy Awards for his work in the early 1980's on John Callaway's Chicago Tonight on WTTW/Chicago.
His current program started on the last Thursday of June,1980 on Chicago's WBEZ/91.5-FM as Inside Politics. In 1991, the show became syndicated and in 1992, Bruce found his current flagship home on WLS-AM/890. Now known as Beyond the Beltway , the show has gained not only the respect of his colleagues, but national attention from Oregon, to New Hampshire, to Texas and beyond. It currently airs coast-to-coast on more than 60 stations.
Beyond the Beltway takes a break from the talking heads of Washington, and discusses politics and issues that all of America is talking about.
